How many miles did you ride in 2008

I'm managed around 4,500miles on the year, (Well 11mths, I have had December off).
It's January and time to get back on the bike.
Next years goal to increase commute journey, join a weekend cycle group and do a sportive.0 -
5484 for me. A new world record. Aiming for 6000 this year but I don't commute far enough to make it easy to do.0
-
Because of my rubbish method of keeping a track of my mileage I have a minimum and maximum and I am probably somewhere in the middle of it:
Min: 6000
Max: 14,000
I suspect around the 10,000 mark with training, Mountain biking, commuting and running errands.....0 -
1,400-odd, up from just over 1,300 in 2007..._______________________________________________
Everyday: GT Vantara (1997)
Train/race: Focus Ergoride SL (2007)
Mud and nonsense: Commencal CombiDisk (2008)
Commuting: Brompton M3L (2009) - FCN 130 -
just over 4k, inclusive, however there are some MTB rides I just didn't log and my computer was on the fritz a few times, but not going to "talk up" the figures, quite happy with that.
I now have a Garmin forerunner 205 GPS, to keep me honest :?0 -
as i cant commute and have only been back on my bike since may i can only say 1,600 or there abouts0
-
2008 was my highest yet, mainly due to job change that increased the commute from 6 to 20 miles each way. Disappointing though:
2005 303.73
2006 449.93
2007 720.43
2008 1717.81
2009 8.29
Add nearly 200 miles more for rides that aren't logged - short runs, kids to school etc and it comes out at 1903 for the year. Not nearly enough, but it gives me a target to aim for this year.0 -
No computer but working on my commute plus weekend rides around 400m since September ( and five visits from the PF)0
-
Didn't keep an accurate log as I haven't used my odometer for parts of the year. But given that my commute is a fairly standard distance. With the very odd weekend ride, the Highclere sportif and the odd race, the total milege is probably between 6,500-6,600 miles.
35 miles yesterday to kick off 2009 after a deviation to take in a short, sharp hill twice on the way home. Might sneak a quick 25 miles in tomorrow if I get clock up some brownie points today.FCN 2-4.
"What happens when the hammer goes down, kids?"
"It stays down, Daddy."
"Exactly."0 -
Got my new bike in late February, and covered 2,114 miles between then and the end of the year.0
-
Calculated about 5000 for 2008 give or take due to using 2 bikes and only one computer, but also had a few weeks off.
So about 5k0 -
Maybe a couple of thousand if I'm lucky. Last year, especially the second half, seemed to deteriorate into a procession of illness, injury, bike problems and crap weather
PS I know weather isn't really an excuse but when motivation is already dented it sure doesn't help!0 -
Not enough!
hopefully I will get my cyclescheme voucher and be able to get a nice sparkly new bike and be able to cycle alot moreOfficers don't run, it's undignified and panics the men0 -

Yes indeedy. It was awful. I went cycling in the south of France in June and we had 3ft of hail on the road at one point. Just about every weekend from then on seemed to be cold or windy or wet (or all three). Not conducive.___________________________________________

I only started commuting from about Mid June onwards when i bought my Scott Sportster through companies R2W scheme. I reckon to have done over a 1000 miles from June to December [though i didn't cycle much through December]Commuter Surosa Toledo S34 Audax
Best Bike Merida Road Race 901-18
In truth i love them both0 -
I have no idea... about 2000km I suppose.
But I thought I'd mention a friend of mine who did 400000ft of altitude in 2007 and 450k last year. She's up for 500k this year and I've no doubt she'll do it. Go Julia 8)0 -
Just over 4000 miles for me in 2008, about two-thirds of which were in the first half of the year - looks a bit pedestrian compared to Mark Cavendish's 3000 miles in December alone.....Time VRS Pro-Team 08 – weekend steed
Condor Moda - commute
Scott something or other - manky old MTB0 -

But he cycles for a living!
My only opportunities are commutes, club rides and half of my holidays (Mme Dudu deserves my company some of the time).
Now if my employers could see a way to paying me to cycle instead of paying me to push the envelope of multimedia convergence (going forward) (taking a helicopter view) and embracing Web 2.0 while maintaining traditional offline paper activities...___________________________________________

I reckon about this 8,500 this year....0
-
5,542 plus whatever on MTB which doesn't have a computer, but only a few hundred I'd guess. Commute has just gone up to 30 miles a day and hoping to do more sportives this year having done my first one last weekend, so should be pushing towards 7,000 this year. Did 689 in January, with the HOTA miles to give Feb a good start so am ahead of target.Bike1

Just over 3,000 miles of commuting in 2008 plus some TT 10s and a few evening spins on the SCR, the Rough Ride and a couple of local MTB outings.
Planning to clock up quite a bit more than that this yearAspire not to have more, but to be more.0
