Hill Training In Suffolk

I live and cycle all over Suffolk which doesn't have anything in the way of decent climbs and I am off to Wales in the new year where I will encounter some.
What's the best way to prepare myself for my first real climbs when I live in a 'flat' county?
Find an incline and cycle up repeatedly? Can I do anything worthwhile on my turbo?
Don't want to get there and fail miserably!

Hi,
no doubt many others will add their thoughts. What has worked for me is hill repeats and working on power on the turbo. do a search on the forum and you will find hundreds of suggestions.

you're luckier than you know. turn a big gear and sustain it for an hour. round my way there are lots of ups and downs and sustaining a big number for an hour is almost impossible due to descents. sittng on a turbo will do the same thing.
you'll need a nice big gear.--
