Do turbo trainers wear tyres out?

as it says on the Subject i was wondering uf using a turbo trainer wears the rear tyre out because it is constantly rubbing on it?
anyone know?

I have a specific wheel I use just for my turbo with a strong commuting tyre on (much cheaper than a specific trainer tyre).0 -
Continental make a yellow coloured turbo specific tyre which doesn't wear out like a 'normal' road tyre will. It is also supposed to be quieter. I don't have one myself, but I'm told they are not the easiest of things to get on and off, hence best to use it on a turbo -specific wheel which you can change onto the bike. They have zero grip due to the compound and hence are not suitable for road use at all. You'll be able to pick one up for about £18.0
