BURGESS HILL SPRINGTIME CLASSIC CYCLOSPORTIVE 15th MARCH 2009
Everybody at SRS Events would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We apologise in advance when we say this as we don't want to be seen as the calorie Police, but it is important to tell you all to make sure that you don't eat too many minced pies over the break.
Depending on what type and brand you buy the calorie content of a minced pie is somewhere around the 148 - 270 calories per pie! Ah those deep filled ones !
By all means eat as many as you like but make sure you get the miles in too.
VERY ROUGHLY if you weigh 11 stone and are cycling at an average of 14mph you will have to cycle 1 hour to burn off 3 minced pies.
We know Christmas is only once a year but you don't want to spend the rest of the New Year trying to get rid of the weight. Believe me we know about this.
Saying that the main course on a Christmas meal is on average full of healthy foods like Turkey and it is the one time of the year that most people actually get their correct quantity of vegtables.
we are already planing our long rides for January
Details of our training rides will be on our Facebook page in the New Year. If you live in the Brighton Area your more that welcome to join us. We will be starting off slowly on our first few rides.

Has anybody ridden this ride before I am wondering how hard it is.0

Hi Coventryeagle,
Sorry for my delay in answering your question.
There are three rides see above for the details or go to our website
http://www.srs-events.cc
The Springtime Classic on the 15th March @72 miles is a shorter version of our summer Cyclosportive The Rumble @95 miles on the 30th August 2009.
The Springtime Classic is a new event for 2009 and has notable climbs such as Kidds Hill and Groombridge Hill. Anyway this is all on the website.
With regard to difficulty I guess it all depends on how much training you have done.
There are three feed stops to keep the energy up and its NOT A RACE so if you enter you can take your time and ENJOY the route. Although others will obviously be going as fast as possible for a good overall time.
If you can ride 50 miles on your training rides you should be able to manage the 72 miles with a few stops in the company of other riders.Yours in Sport The SRS Events Team http://twitter.com/srsevents http://www.srs-events.cc http://ontherivet.ning.com0 -

i.m down for the 52 mile event, when is the cut off date if i want to step up to the full 71 miles?
There is no cut off date as such.
What happens is you must tell one of the signing on clerks at signing on that you wish to change the ride you are doing.
Riders who are either riding the Classic or the Challenge ride can change their mind on the day.
Tour riders have to stay on the Tour ride. Or pay £5 to upgrade to classic or challenge ride.
The number of riders entered so far is 353 riders with entries flooding in now. http://www.srs-events.cc/burgess_hill1/riders.htm
