Daytime training for those who avoid the 9 to 5...

Hello,

I am self-employed and run my own very small business, so I am lucky enough not to have to travel to work and cram myself into a sardine can en route to a 9-5 slog.

As a result, I can train during the day which is a great plus.

Are there any other people out there who for whatever reason (self-employed, flexitime etc) are around during the day and who train during this time?

I would love to find people for training rides during the week (I'm based in the South, West Sussex/Surrey area), especially as it will make the week more interesting!

Anyone interested, PM me.

Thanks! :)

  • hi barry

i'm in the same situation, self employed with a bit of time on my hands at the moment.
Have just met up with another guy from the cycling weekly forum. had a very nice ride out yesterday to edenbridge.

Where abouts are you?, i'm in crawley
  • What are the chances...? I'm in Crawley too (Pound Hill).

Most of my riding is done out Leigh/Dorking/Brockham way, though my girlfriend lives over towards Kent so venture out via Horley over to Westerham, Limpsfield etc too.

Are you with the wheelers or CCC?
  • used to be with the wheelers years ago as school boy & junior but that was back in the late 80's / early 90's.
you with either of them? guy i was out with on wednesday has just hooked up with the wheelers, reckons that the ccc has not much going on.

have pm'd you my email address, fancy a ride? will be doing a couple of hours tommorow

like gkerr4 i am jealous of the day time rides (but realise you will be working evenings etc and putting all hours into your own business)

Have got this week off work, using up holidays and was so nice to get my normal evening rides done during the day, even have sunshine on wednesday :) gave me a bit more motivation to keep pushing the pace as well :)

  • I manage to do all my riding during daylight :D Not sure if I'd enjoy riding in the dark. I have no fixed hours for work and can be called to work at anytime day or night. Usually have a rough idea when my next job will be, so can fit a ride in whenever. Did get caught out once when got called for a job while still out on the bike. Made it on time by the skin of my teeth. Speak of the devil.........time to go!
2 Wheels or not 2 wheels..That is not in question.
