Until then, I'll just keep enjoying my Giant SCR2

The lightest 26" wheeled Rohloff that I could find! Possibly a Tout Terrain Silk Road - with most of the fancy add-ons a mere 3 grand!d.j.

I know alot of you are going to shoot it down, but its got to be a pinarello prince for me.0
-
New Time RXR in white with a pair of Lightweights and Campag Super record.....ooooh yeh!!! Is there a better way to spend 7 grand.0
-
Frame choice would be tough - probably a custom titanium Bertoletti but no doubt about the Super Record groupset and Bora wheels.
But then again, a custom Jonny Cycles or Vanilla fixed gear with polished stainless lugwork, cut-outs and fitted out with choice parts from Campagnolo, Phil Wood and the like:
http://vanillabicycles.com/frames/track/1/Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0 -
Cyfac Gothica for me, or Serotta Ottrott. Colnago EPS and Cervelo S3 as runners-up.0
-
i'd have to say prince aswell i think, with durace gears, maybe the electric ones just to try, lightweight wheels so exotic,0
-
ummm......
probally a custom Argos "made to measure" reynolds 853 frame and fork spec'ed for racing with Dura ace maybe? With some reynolds wheels?"If we all had hardtails we'd all go down the hill, just slower"

No problem at all, Orbea Orca frame(black/white), Sram Red group, Zip 404 wheels, Cinelli Ram Bianca Carbon bars, Bianca XL stem, Bianca Ram white carbon seatpost, Cinellli Ram LTD saddle, Cinelli Zebra bar tape. That should do nicely, in fact I'll have two, one for sundays.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

Colnago, maybe the new EPS, in Saronni Red. Super Record, and couldn't imagine putting anything other than Bora's on there...although i'd like some lightweight obey's to play with too. All italain finishing kit, prob Deda or Cinelli with fresh white tape, veloeflex tubs and a flight saddle (even if it doesn't suit my a$$!).
some exotics on there would be nice. maybe ax lightness brakes.0 -
Pinarello Prince for me!0

Not sure how to post a pic properly....but dream bike would be the Passoni Mito with Lightweights and Super record....not likely since getting laid off in Jan!!

well, to be honest, Money wasn't a huge consideration when I did my own selfbuild this year and I ended up with the S-Works Roubaix. That said, items like "lightweight" or Lew racing wheels would have been unaffordable (although I am not sure i would put them on anyway) but generally `i put together the bike I wanted and made component choices based on what I felt offerred the best value (in terms of performance for price - I think the real high groupsets become diminishing returns at a certain point) more than anything else.
thats not to say it is immune from upgrades of course - this year it will get Record levers and mechs (but not brakes or chainset) it will also get new carbon bars of some sort - I fancy an integrated stem/bar something or other like a cinelli ram or FSA plasma or perhaps the specialized barmac wedge.
I'm also still not 100% that it would benefit more from comfier wheels such as Campag Neutron Ultras - which I considered at the time of build.
other than that I honestly have the perfect bike. It weighs bugger all is unbelieeeevably comfortable and looks the biz which is all I was asking for in a bike!0 -

No Brainer surely!Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.0 -

I've just seen this "Kalkhoff Pro Connect Pedelectric (09) | £1495 " in Review - and I guess that I'd best start saving up now. Another year or so and if I wish to keep on two wheels that will have to be the bike for me.d.j.

i can't believe people would buy a Storck compared to a custom Viner/Parlee/Serotta/Colnago but it's their money. Everytime I come across someone with one, it always seems to have a reverse gear fittedM.Rushton0
