Cake - just cake, any sort, doesn't matter. As long as it's cake.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0

STEFANOS4784~Out of 22 people only three of us like cake! Who knew?"There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0

I don't crave cake after a ride, usually cereal or bread (sometimes broccoli)
Am I abnormal?!FCN 100 -
I rarely eat cake!
However, a strawberry cheesecake would go down a treat right about now.
Or Cadbury's Mini-rolls - I eat them like someone loading a pump-action shotgun; one after another, without pause.

Stefano - I gave up the cigs in 2002 - used nicorettte lozenges but in industrial quantities for the first two months - cost more than fags!! Gotta make the decision yourself though ... i lived with the nagging for years first.
Crapaud - just please don't mention the mini-rolls.0 -
Yeh thought that was the case, used to be a chronic pot-head, came to the point where i thought fvck this, what's the point, just gotta get that mind-set with the smoking, have set dates but that is useless, hopefuly my fairly new found love of road cycling will get me there, shame i didn't find it years ago though as my other cycling mates always say i'm ideal build for it  :arrow:winter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

I bought 10 cigs a couple of hours ago, only to find that some bugger's put the prices up again! So I'm staying up late to finish them and stopping first thing tomorrow.
I think that I'll substitute with Galaxy Ripple cakes.*

Mmmmmmmmm caaaaakkkkkeeeeee
Give me any cake and I'll eat it.
Had a lovely piece of carrot cake in Pete's Eats (Llanberis) last year. There was a house-brick-sized piece in the counter so I asked for a piece of it, thinking she'd cut a slice off it. No, I got the whole house-brick-sized chunk. It was delicious
That, or some kind of chocolate cake, or a cherry bakewell, or a chocolate tiffin from my local Waterstone's - yum!0 -

I think you'll find that that trumps your carrot cake (which isn't a cake; it can't be, it's got vegetables in it).
On to page 2 already and no-one's mentioned hash cakes. Very strange.A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject - Churchill0 -

Spotted this in the local rag
I think there was a cake advert somewhere near it.
One of the shops at work sells cakes from Fisher and Donaldons, Fudge Doughnut heaven. (A mate who emigrated to Bristol complains about the lack of Fudge Doughnuts there)[/img]Do Nellyphants count?

If I had to choose a cake, it would be a slice of Bun Loaf.
Since this is a regional, Christmas-season-only ,delicacy, and sweeter than I normally prefer, I usually tend to go for something more savoury (like marmite and peanut butter swirled together on thick, well-toasted bread), but I'd never turn up the chance of bun loaf over Christmas/New Year.0 -
A big fat victoria sponge with fresh cream and jam.
There is a Nigella Lawson recipe for a really good chocolate fudge cake - gorgeous but it must have a million calories in it. I've also got a good recipe for Carrot Cake - don't like the stuff you buy out normally but this home made one, I could eat all day long. Cheesecake is always good - a new york style vanilla one with lashings of double cream.
If we stop for a cuppa and a cake, the first thing I look for is a plain scone with clotted cream and Jam......probably my favourite0 -
There's a shop in Cromer(can't remember the name at the moment) that sells loads of home made cakes. The best by far is their Nelson Slice. Its a kind of bread pudding but with more fruit and a lot of rum in it! It to is brick size, too big in fact for me to get it in a jersey pocket when I go past on a training run so I have to eat half of it and save the rest till I get home!Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

Not forgetting Bara Brith (thick with butter). My mum used to make it, not had it for years but it was lovely. My mum made fantastic cakes (and still does every now and then) - victoria sponge, fairy cakes, rock cakes, christmas cakes, the lot. Mmmmm.0

And i'd like to add, i made a sultana cake a few weeks ago, and it was not bad for a beginner0

Where does that leave the humble fish cake? Still, nearly time for Christmas cake, folks - can't beat a good home-made one. Less cloying and very moreish if you just make one as a bare fruit cake and leave off the marzipan etc., though.

At home In deepest, darkest Cornwall my Nan used to make scrummy saffron cake. Deep yellow with the strands still in it and lovely with butter on. Anywhere else have this? I think it is a Cornish recipe left over from the trading days of spices and tin."There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0
