Left work at 8.30 tonight and cycled the 9.7 miles home. Ideal conditions, no breeze, next to no traffic and very light surface water.
27 minutes and 55 seconds later at an average speed of 20.5 mph I arrived at my back gate in my best time in the three and a half months that I have had my new road bike.
Windy as buggery on the way in and took nearly 40 minutes.
The best of it is that I`m only working Monday and Tuesday this week then got the rest of it off on hols for some early Crimbo shopping with Mrs merlin.

Somethings gotta go wrong, `cause I`m felling way too damn good - Nickelback.

Well done. That's a good time. I commute 10 miles and I've yet to break the 30 minute barrier - although all those lights and junctions don't help.
Keep it up,

My best commute is just over 10 mile at about 19.2mph with normal clothes and backpack although in my cycling kit on a good day I can average 21mph on the same route.
It all depends what the roads are like, some places I could manage to average about 25mph if I had a tailwind all the time, but even in the same direction I hardly always have a tailwind.0
