I also love the fact that Scotland bend over and welcome Argentina with open ars cheeks just cus they fcked England over once upon a time. Thats a losers mentality if ever I saw one. I expect they were embarrassed to score more than one goal because it was like fking an ugly nympho i.e gratefully accepted but not really that satisfying so you only do it once and leave in a hurry.

Fair enough. BUT, I really don't understand that mentality either. I saw a couple of Scottish fans with "thanks for '86" written on it and to be honest I was little embarrassed. Then again it was in Glasgow and you can't expect much more from that bunch of soap dodgers!!

He handled the ball and a goal was given by the ref.

The Ref should have disallowed and booked him.

    He didn't.

    Get over it!

No English player has ever broken the rules?

Thats the point maaaan. Some dudes in Scotland obviously haven't got over it because they welcomed him like a hero becaaaause of that goal. Its like me cheering Davydenko because he beat Murray. That ain't my scene man.

The sky has gone a deep red now. This sunset is the best I've seen for a while. Anyone else got a good one!?

West Wales. Just the horizon is cherry red now but 10 minutes ago the whole sky was awash with colour. Beautiful.

Except for last night where we became the first team to beat Germany on home soil since 1973......

Good performance with a balanced side, it was good to see natural width in the team, it was also a perfect example that shows 11 good 'team' players can play better than 11 great 'individual' players.....

Did you get a trophy for that? No it's a friendly

Sorry i didnt quite hear your answer? It's a forum without sound

    Would that be a no?
    No...

What did we get from the game? another win in a good run, which shows progress. I do agree England have underachieved for years now, but what have Scotland ever done?

As for Maradonna....if you back him as a sportsman then I guess you think EPO should be available over the counter. He cheated and got away with it and if you support that you truly are a fool[/quote]

I got over it years ago, but it appears some people bring it up over and over again as they have no achievements that have a greater significance. I am sure some English players have gotten away with things, do I care? No not really...But when someone takes the time to deliberately provoke an argument I will reply and try to educate them.

At the end of the day it's a game, we won last night and I am happy about that. Do I care about anyone else's comments on how cr4p England are at football? No, because they can change, whereas people who belittle achievements will probably never change.

  • I found it refreshing to see two unglamourous and yet highly effective and experienced midfielders (Carrick and Barry) in the middle of the park. The popular opinion seems to be that because they don't knock goals in every week they are crap, but the team plays so much better with at least one of them to anchor the team, instead of building it around two free-roving players, however good those two might be.

Do you know, I heard something the other day that said that in Argentina, its not considered a bad thing thing to be able to get one over on your opponents illegally if possible. Here, its considered very 'un-british' although we'll take the spoils of course!

Robbo is funny for a change....

My god it's dull and hateful to watch.

You just statistics like a drunk man uses a lamp-post, for support rather than illumination.

England population 50mil + are ranked higher than Northern Ireland population 1.5 mil.Wow

    Note to all

I only intend a bit of harmless banter

No offence, we have power sharing over here now and we're all mates. I personally havent burnt anything for months.

PS Blame GTVLUSSO he started it.

Lol. Don't start that population argument or we'll all start wondering how fiji beat Wales in the RWC and how NZ consistently kick everyones arse...(except in the world cup)!

Oh. And that harmless banter line is only viable when you've actually said something funny. That line is usually used after a splurge of nationalist bile IME. Its a catch all excuse.

  • International matches are too cagey nowadays, there is too much to lose. I certainly dont get as excited by England friendlies anymore. Everything stops for Spurs though. The highs and lows I have already had this season  wont be matched by England games in several seasons.

I was in the shelf at the Lane when we lost to the scummers 4-5, we lost but what a game, England would have to be in a WC Final for me to feel like that. I sat with my face in my hands in the away end against Fulham last Saturday when Gomez "fluffed" up. The 3 Lions dont do that to me anymore. I burst out laughing last night when Terry left Carson up the creek. Its Terrys fault he has 3 chances to clear and faffs about. You can imagine what Carson is thinking, he is going to kick it out, I will stay here, oh now he is going to head it back to me I will stay here to receive it, oh now he is going to clear it again I will stay here, oh fudge, no he isnt.

I also laughed my 4rse off when that happened, but it was as much Carson's fault. He started to come, then stopped, then came for it again....and why bend over and attempt pick the ball up when you can see exactly where the player is? clear your lines....it's taught to school kids and if he cannot grasp that then give Robinson or Hart(injured atm)another go.

On another note though, I enjoyed my ride home last night

My main sport for years, until I couldn't recover from the knocks before the next game. Then I took up cycling to maintain fitness. I still miss playing the game though :(

    Got the early train back
    BAM

Anyway.. "all this you've not won" "nor have you and your country smells"
    is all rather counter productive

Firstly Wheezy and PapaLaz tarring all england fans is akin to saying all cyclists RLJ. Yes you get red top reading neanderthals but you also get people who think before spieling off the usual it's coming home cr@p.

and on this site a little thought is appreciated, footy forums and the like do my head in for much of the above. Mispelt ill informed rants which set other tard offand it's a fulll blown flame war which gets no one anywhere

At the end of the day  international football is fairly dull, club football is much more interesting and my club winning means more to me than my country
