You are right and this country is very good at knee jerk reactions which does not help the problem at all.
We all do need to help the children but it is a lot of parent that seem to have no idea what so ever that does not help and I cant believe that they parents were so bad that they have no idea how to bring up they kids
I would go to help as that is me and do think about how it looks when something looks wrong with a child.
The problem is that a lot of people simply dont want to get involved with anything that does not seem to affect them directly but when it does they want everyone else too and that just does not work.0 -
I'm still waiting for Boybiker to tell us what, if anything, he does for a living that so eclipses social work and teaching in value...Only a Pawn in their Game...0

Yes, I'd be quite interested in what Boybiker does which is more valuable to society than (for example) teaching youngsters how to be productive members of it. We're clearly not dependent on him for thoughtful analysis: so maybe a Sun journalist then!0

Which bit? The Parents (I include the biological father in that), Social Services, Neighbours and friends, The Police, Solicitors or Boybiker?
For the record, I would not approach a crying child who appeared to be lost in a shopping mall. I would most certainly alert security or the like though. I hate to think that it has reached a point where we (men particularly) are afraid to help a Child.
I have worked in a Housing Department for a Local Authority for the last 10ish years, I also managed a Local Authorities "Asylum Team" before that assisting people under the National Assistance Act and the Children Act and had a lot of contact with Social Services and would like to say that I think they do a thankless task that I wouldnt do for double the money that Im on now. Its a damned if you do and damned if you dont job.0
