It's such a good combo with the p7 i run the p7 on low on most occasions, plus it takes drop in hosts so you can upgrade the emitter easily to say a solarforce r2 should you wish.
What sort of run times do you get with that, with what batteries? I'm looking for a small light for commuting that could be used as a helmet mount later should I wish to splash out on a P7 or 2 for some serious night riding."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -
I have got over 2 hours out of my p7 alternating between low and high settings. You`ll fid that low is plenty for most road riding, and you`ll probably risk dazzling drivers with it on high. You have the option of tucking a spare battery which weighs nothing in your back pocket too.I use mine on the roadbike with a cheap flashing led as a back up.2006 Giant XTC

Hope 1 gets more than THREE hours on max beam, triple that on power 3 (out of 4) and 36 hours on low.
That's a lot more...0 -
Sorry Blackspur,I read that again and realised you were referring to the trustfire light. It says 3 hours on the dx website, but maybe Dazza can tell you from personal experience.2006 Giant XTC

I got this 900 (claimed) lumen light from ebay, with handle bar mount, 2x battery (hour or so burn time each) and charger for about £50.
MTE® SSC P7-C Series LED 900 lumens Flashlight
It's really bright, totally adequate and easily rivals lights that cost 2/3 times as much..
Downside is it took 2 weeks to arrive..
Now if I had 2 of them, all for circa £100 that would be a serious light setup

That is because the max is 240 lumens... not 600 or so. Drop to a lower lumen setting, and is almost the same.0 -
Vh - get them direct from deal extreme - there is a link around somewhere here. We dont think it is as bright as they claim -but value for money is amazing - only downside is that the run time isnt great - but i can live with that for the saving !0

At least three hours, ive never managed to drain it.The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

There are actually about 3 versions on deal extreme that appear very similar. The 2 mode ones are penty good enough.
Buy the c bin version if you want, but from what I have read elsewhere, there is minimal difference between either of the 2 mode versions.
There is some good info on the mtb-britain forum if you got the lights section.
mine arrived today, it's sooooo bright and so cheap however it does get very hot (inside anyway)
when i get a chance i'll take some pics of the beam compared to a fenix and my dinotte.0 -

I took your advice and ordered this. Coupled with the Fenix, it should be an improvement over the Tesco helmet light. Also, going to order the 'MTE SSC P7' in the next couple of weeks.0 -

I know it's blinkn obvious but take it outside, stick it on the bike and ride.
It's just above freezing out there and it'll only just feel warm to the touch.'nulla tenaci invia est via'

Just looked on their site, and Fenix have put their prices up.
Considering that people are currently being a little cautious with regards to spending, and also the great offers from Dealextreme...I find it a little strange!0 -
Deal Extreme do Fenix too.0

Supply and demand my friend.
The bike community is a massive group with nearly 4 million in the uK alone.
People have been raving about fenix over the past year and people want them, so they put the prices up.
Have you checekd the uk suppliers, I paid 49.95.0 -
I ordered a Fenix and mount this morning (Photon shop) and some NiHM rechargables with charger (ebay) - all for £50. It might be possible to buy it a bit cheaper overseas, but higher risk I think... and aren't we all supposed to be re-investing in the UK economy anyway ?...
Seems like a good deal.

Canada, I bought bought mine week before last (from Fenix), but I noticed that they have now increased the prices since I bought mine. Just an observation.0
