I've recently moved to Wolverhampton but am struggling to find a club suitable for me, tried 2 groups so far, 1 too fast, the other just not my thing. Are there any cyclists out there who live in the NW of the city who go out of an evening/weekend and wouldn't object to a lady cyclist coming along so she can get fit again? I'm not keen to go out on my own.

I'm in Brownhills so could get to you pretty easily. How far were you looking to go? I know a few loops out into Staffordshire, Cannock Chase etc.

I presume you've tried the Wolverhampton Wheelers? Which session(s) did you come along for if you don't mind me asking? Am just curious as there are many different ones to fit all ranges and abilities, but would have thought that one may be suitable.

    Weekly programme is:

Monday: Ladies 19:00 to 20:00, recovery ride (road bikes) 20:00 to 21:00. Aldersley Stadium

Wednesday: Winter training on road bikes 19:00 to 21:00 for experienced riders. Aldersly Stadium. (Mixed abilities in a couple of groups though).

Thursday: Ladies ride from The Piggot at Pattingham 19:00. Lights required.

Friday:Youth session 18:30 to 20:00, Adult skills training session 19:30 to 21:00. Aldersley Stadium.

Sunday:Club Runs 09:30 at Hugh Porter Way, Aldersley Stadium (usually a couple of groups)

There's also a forum on the wheelers website if you wanted to get a better idea of local rides, or to organise some with 'the locals'. If you have tried out one of the above, and not found it suitable, then I'd encourage you to persist and try another. Perhaps contact John or Alison Cooper (details on website) for some more info.

Am in W/Ton myself funnily enough, but tend not to be out so much eves and weekends myself.
