Rollers - Recommendations please

Now I have been told that rollers are better for developing a smooth style than turbo trainers which is something I think I could do with. But most of the rollers sets I've seen on wiggle don't seem to have any sort of resistance built-in. Is this important? Can you tire yourself out without resistance? (clearly I'm not trying to develop thighs like Lance Armstrong, just get fitter).

Can anyone recommend a good set at a not-gold-plated-price?

I can't help you with a recommendation, as such, but I have decided to go for rollers too, after trawling through plenty of info on here!
I have found the CyleOps rollers (with resistance), at www.cyclestore.co.uk for £171.99, that's 20% off, which is the best deal I've found, so far.
I decided to get them with resistance option to get the best of both worlds and maybe add a bit of interest, without having to buy a turbo, too.

You can get tired if you put it in a big gear, your bike that is, but the benefit is more smooth pedalling, and better handling. I recommend the tacx antares I recently bought. I'm really pleased with them and they were only ~£100.
    Legs, lungs and lycra.

I've had the Cycleops Alu rollers with the resistance unit for a couple of years and they are really good. I could spin out in 53x12 before adding the resistance unit without hitting any really high heart rates, so intervals were difficult.

The resistance unit really helps and is very smooth in operation. It has 5 levels, and level 2 gives you about the same resistance as a flat road, so 3 further levels give quite a bit of load if required.

They fold up easily and are really tough, many hours of use on mine show no wear at all.
