hey addivllangirb, have alot at this thread http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12588359 . A few people meet up at Skidby Mill, 10am on a sunday morning. Might be worth checking out to, should be able to meet up with fellow bikers, i would of thought. Apart from that, theres the Hull to Hornsea old railway line, and if your ok at reading maps, theres many bridalways and footpaths in west hull, going out to South cave etc.Yorkshire Man living in Somerset

As MattHarper mentioned we ride from Skidby Mill on Sundays, meeting at 10. We ride 20 - 35 miles generally towards South Cave, Newbald, Brantingham and Welton.
It's a mixture of road and off road (mud), if you fancy it then let me know as I ride over from Beverley.

Hi Matt
What kind of shape are you in right now? I'm in Scarborough but horribly unfit, my dalby pass expired some time ago!! I just started a few road rides to wake myself up a bit but I'm up for a few rides when I'm fitter.0 -
Dan_xz - im not to bad these days, only been biking for a couple of months, once or twice a week really. I was biking around Raincliffe woods on sunday! Drop us a pm whenever you wanna meet up for a ride.
eats dirt - I did wonder if you was still riding from Skidby mill on a sunday morning, might have to join you at some point!

no problems. I use this site http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php, which overlays google maps and online O/S maps, and then you just design a route (it tells you the distance, descents, etc), and then either copy it over onto your own o/s map, or (which i've started doing) save the route and transfer it to a bike GPS. I got the basic Garmin Edge 205, and whilst it doesn't display maps like a car satnav, it draws a line which is very easy to follow. Makes it abit easier then looking at O/S maps every 5mins, although i tend to take a map with me as well, you can never be to safe!Yorkshire Man living in Somerset

We generally average 14mph. The riding is not technical by any means and is mostly on bridleways / road, although the rain and those pesky horses have probably turned the ground to mud soup by now.
I'll definitely be riding Sunday morning, so if anyone is up for a ride let me know by Saturday evening.0
