Post-injury training advice?

Hi everyone, basically I've not been riding for about 5/6 months due to an ITB then Hip-Flexor problem, I'm finally back in a state to ride again and I'm wondering what the best investment of my time will be seeing as I'm in for shoulder surgery in december which will write off about a month of training time. My goals for next year are to bring my TT times down from around 26 mins and to get started on some road racing. I'm pretty much free to ride as much as required (I'm a student!) - should I be building up my mileage now before the surgery or is that a waste of time seeing as I'll have to take a while off?
Thanks
Matt

Is it not possible to ride a turbo trainer once you've had your shoulder op?0 -
As long as you don't overly increase your risk of pre-op injury, then going into surgery in good physical condition will aid your recovery and help you bounce back faster when you are able to train again.0
