Tough call... I loved the Lampre Caffita one by Kappa a few years back. I recently bought the SLipstream kit (my own anti-LA protest), Euskaltel is another good shout...
But for me the winner is teh Carrera Jersey/denim look shorts combo."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

NOOOOOO! It makes you look like a DIY store employee! It's got to be the old Peugeot jersey worn by Robert Millar

I still have Jeremy Hunts Banesto National Champion's jersey too which is pretty smart. At least i think it was Hunt, lol0 -

There's an element that if you take a classy rider and put them in any kit it looks good.
Pantani looked cool in a pink skinsuit. If some skinny bald git with pasty legs tried in in Britain, he'd look like something escaped from a Soho cellar. Maurizo Fondriest - those elbows! - looked great in blue and pink too but put it on a porky club rider and it's not nice.0 -

You just reminded me of the Big Mat jersey that WAS intended to make the riders look like DIY store employees."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

No just the jersey, I'll probably look ridicioulous enough with just the jersey.0 -

Still available from some sources, albeit rendered in modern fabrics and screen-printing so not a bang-on copy of the original. Likewise the old 'chequered flag' Peugeot jersey and others.

I thought that was the Castorama-Raleigh strip (as worn by Thierry Marie and others)?

I think this jersey - or something very close to it - has been revived now that Skil are back in team sponsorship.
