I didn't manage to my computer guy yesterday but was having a look at the spec. of my laptop to see if I can run the Fortius software on it.
Minimum System Requirements for Fortius are (as far as I am aware): -
850MHz processor (I have Intel Celeron 2.4GHz processor so fine on this score)
512Mb disk space (Label on my laptop says "1*256Mb DDR SDRAM" and also "30GB Ultra ATA/100HDD DVD/CD-RW")
Videocard Direct X-9 with 128Mb of memory (not sure what this means??)
I/O Free USB Port (what does this mean??)
Software: 2000/XP (I have XP so no probs there)
1 free USB Port (assume I would have no probs there either)
Am struggling to make it to computer shop until weekend so would greatly appreciate if someone more knowledgeable than me could shed some light on the above.
Many thanks.
Grant

You've probably got the 512mb disk space. If you didn't, Windows would be complaining.
Go to My Computer, right click on C: and select properties. Check you've got the space.
It's odd that it's asked for disk space in a binary round number. Are you sure that's not the minimum ram requirement? If so, what is the minimum ram requirement?
To get your videocard specs, go <start><run> then enter `dxdiag` without the backticks. Click 'yes' to get it to have a look at your system.
On the 'System' tab at the bottom there's a 'DirectX Version' this should be at least 9
On the 'Display' tab, under 'Device' there's a 'Max total memory'. This should be greater than or equal to 128mb
'I/O Free USB port' means the same as '1 free usb port'0 -

Bollocks - my laptop has DirectX8 graphics
So much for the VR trainer idea!0 -
You might have a DX9 capable chipset but only DX8 installed. Its unlikely, but entirely feasible.
You can download DX9 from MS's website.0 -
Grantus - on the display tab of the dxdiag, what did it say for video memory?Complicating matters since 19650

That's not sounding too good. You may find it runs, but the diplay will no doubt start to get confused when the VR or RLV is on a busy section of video. That can get pretty irritating when youi are working hard and just want to get off and throw the whole thing into the garden.
If you can stretch to the extra expense, I'd look at a cheap 2nd hand desktop, a Pentium 4 2Gb that can take a PCI-E video card. I had a quick look on ebay and a HP dc7600 small form factor, similar to what I use is going for around £75 buy it now price. The onboard graphics will work, but upgrade to a PCI-E would improve it for about £30ish.Complicating matters since 19650 -
