    Everyone loves a pedant.

There's currently 3 recognised hour records, the Athletes hour record (held by Sosenka), the Absolute hour record (held by Boardman) and the one that no-one pays any interest too bar the HPV world, the IHPVA Hour record held by Zabovnik, which allows full fairings and recumbents.

I'm just imagining the forum in late July next year, reading see saw threads with comments like "Contador is great because he kicked Armstrong's butt in the high mountains" followed by "yeah but Armstrong is 38, contador would never have beaten him in his heyday" followed by "Armstrong only won in his heyday because of the PEDs, Contador would have still kicked his CLEAN butt" and on and on and on.......................................

I'm thinking - "Schleck only won because of the civil war in Astana"

    Chris Who?

Which one will be remembered by the rest of the world in 10 years time?
Ask the average man on the street in the UK to name a cyclist and they are likely to name either Armstrong or Boardman.

As to who'll be remembered - probably both. One is an Olympic gold medallist and hour record holder (and lest we forget still holds the true hour record), the other a 7 time Tour winner.

So your snide comment says more about you than Boardman I'm afraid.

LOL are you serious ? ask the average punter in the street to name a cyclist and id imagine not one would name CB The average man in the street wouldnt have a scooby doo who Chris Boardman is and what he achieved. .One of my mates who is an average Joe Bloggs when it comes to cycling just bough a Boardman mountain bike and i filled him in on why it had rainbow stripes on the bike and what they meant. He is still none the wiser btw.

Nobody really pays much attention to any of the three these days.

As much as I like the way Andy Schleck rides in the mountains, I don't think he can match Armstrong and Contador. Can you see him being within two minutes of them in the time trials?
