MTB frame in turbo trainer

I've got a Tacx Turbo trainer. i've always used a road bike in it but is there any reason why I can't use an MTB, either with a 26" or 700cc wheel?

No. Knobbly tyres would be a bad idea, but a smooth tyre will be fine.

ellieb you could buy a turbo tyre for your mtb to save buying slicks i'm sure tacx sell them

Just buy a tyre fit for turbo trainer use, you can get them for MTB's
