knees question
the flying hernia

Forgive me if this has been covered a thousand times before...
Did a 155k ride yesterday (Southern Sportive - v. good) and got pain on outside and back of both knees.
Have been getting twinges from one knee on 50m club runs recently - so adjusted the cleat, but never both knees before.
Had the seating position set up for me originally by some keen racer mates but now
wondering if the seat might be a bit high?
Thoughts welcome.

It may also be too low. Or you rode much much further than before and are not used to it. Could be lots of things. It is very difficult thing to diagnose without lots of details and even then it might need a professional to sort it out.
I do not know of anyone with the level of capability I would recommend in the UK (I have previously asked Ric Stern his thoughts on it). Good bike fitters are a very rare breed. Lots and lots of wannabes out there though....

Do a search there on knee soreness and I guarantee you'll get plenty of hits.

Disclosure - Steve Hogg is a good friend of mine. I have no business affiliation with him but when it comes to getting a bike to fit you well, he really knows his stuff. I don't always agree with everything Steve suggests but not much (and they are not usually issues concerning bike positioning).
He has helped me for well over a decade and is still helping me with my current fit challenges.0 -

Not particularly cheap, but worth every penny in my own case.0
