A-roads, roundabouts, surface dressing equals quick
Country lanes, tow-paths, fields, cycle paths equals slow0 -
town, lanes, onto ridgeway, stunning view, down onto busy road, unwelcome little hill at office
the ridgeway makes up for most of the commute, you can see across to westbury and what i assume is the edge of salisbury plain. on a clear day it is fabulous.0 -
Old Kent Road, Elephant and Castle, The Mall, appalling state of roads, patient bus-drivers, fun.0
-
a.m - A-roads, town traffic, small climb, flat, more uphill, out of breath.
p.m. - Country lane, nice views, village, rat-run, more views, tree-lined lane.
I know it's more than 15 words, but the two rides are quite different. The morning ride is on busy arterial routes into and out of Shrewsbury. The way home takes longer and follows mostly U/C lanes or B-roads arcing to the North of the town. They share only the first 200 yards from my house. This thread has prompted me to think of taking the camera and making a visual story as well.Aspire not to have more, but to be more.0 -

200 yards of speed bumps followed by 20 miles of England's finest countryside & villages.
16 words with the ampersand. It's a great ride and has the advantage of offering a dozen permutations to prevent it getting samey. There's also a colossal climb if I fancy it on one variation.Life's good...0 -
