Spinning Classes as Interval Training Session

Hey All,
I usually get in between one and 2 spinning classes a week on top of my road cycles (with all the lovely weather we have 8) ).
I generally think of these sessions as my speed work or interval sessions for the week. The general duration is 60 minutes and will encompass high intensity spinning with heavy gear pushing - both designed to get the HR up.
I was just wondering what your thoughts were on the benefits of these classea and whether you'd rate them as a decent interval workout.
I go all out, so it'd be great to here others thoughts!

Doing a class isn't going to do any harm at all.I do 2 a week. It's all good. It's either that or going on a turbo for an hour. And the classes does make one work much harder0

Not any more, though they are potentially less brain numbing than the turbo is....0

Depends on what you do in them - a good class is like a good turbo session.
A crap one can be a waste of time.0 -
Anyone in the Halifax region should try a spin class with Sammi @ fitness first on wednesday at 12.15pm - you will not know what rpm means until you do!
As has been stated, a good class is fantastic substitute for a turbo session including leg speed, sprinting, climbing and endurance, but the resistance you use is all down to you - just like a turbo but with a tutor who motivates that is on your shoulder can take you that little bit further every time.0
