I have posted before about weight loss.I have lost 38lbs in 12 weeks.By eating a low fat diet and high protein diet,no bread and i do not drink or do take aways.
I go to the gym every day and go out on my bike 3 times a week.My goal is to do a TT and join a club next season.
I have seen a personel trainner at my local gym.I use a heart rate monitor when training. He has set one of my zones the one at 85% at 165 which i maintain for a couple of minutes then a 30 sec rest which he advised to let it come down to 135 then get it up to 165 again.Been doing intervals like this for an hour each day. Also doing weights to build lean muscle. My main worry is that this won't really burn fat or will it.My resting heart rate has come down now to 58.My age is 36.

It does help you burn fat, but in a different way to cardio exercise. Muscle constantly uses energy to keep it alive whereas fat does not. The more muscle you build up, the more calories you will burn off while sitting doing nothing.
I'v heard that the top bodybuilders burn more calories sitting doing nothing than the average person does while on a brisk walk.
edit: just to point out, you dont need to be a massive bodybuilder for this to help you0
