What are the worst cars for cutting too close?

I know this is totally unscientific, but hey! this is a cycling forum...

What make/model of car do people reckon is the worst for disregarding and/or actively targeting cyclists? I always used to think it was bigger, more expensive ones driven by people who have never ridden in their lives, but from recent experience I reckon it's more likely to be smaller sh!ttier ones - the Ford KAs, the Corsas etc.

And, for some reason, VWs don't ever seem to give much room...

What does everyone else reckon?

Renault Clio's with "Lexus" lights and an exhaust big enough to fit a small child in.

Audis - they have taken over BMWs as the "angry repmobile" of choice to the "upwardly mobile" driving spacker.

Horse riders, after a ride when they get behind the wheel of their smoke belching horse box's and forget they are driving a bloody great lorry.
I hope my wife doesn't see this!

Yes, yes, good one. The ones who can barely see over the steering wheel whilst gripping it with their sparrow-claw-like hands as though their very existance depends upon it, pootling along in their Metro Mayfair's that have never seen 30mph even on the motorway!

I'd have to say it is Mercs, they seem to think it is big and tough to overtake with a big whoosh and a small gap...

Definitely gets my vote - big black SUV's piloted by rich b*tch - usually Range Rover Vogues.

4x4's (mostly X3 or X5) absolutely no contest.

Oh...and agree about Cayenne. What were they thinking???

Mitsubishi Warriers (hateful redneckmobiles, should have a gun-rack in the cab).

Another vote for "licensed" cabbies... who exactly licenses these people, cos a driving test really should be added as part of the process.

    BMW's!!!

It's like they just CANNOT allow the offside wheels to cross the white line in the centre of the road.

"This is my side of the road and you (cyclist) don't exist" seems to be the general perceived thought process of the common or garden BMW driver - why? - I don't know!

Question I've always wanted to ask - what do people consider to be 'too close'?? I've viewed a fair few of these YouTube vids where cyclists have moaned about poor driving and almost invariably I see poor riding technique and cars not particularly close. :)
    Still breathing.....

within inches of your life, y'know, that sort of thing Hammy.

when you're riding up the road and suddenly, as if from nowhere, whoosh, whereTF did that come from...

absolutely right GS3, it's almost seems as if they're too scared to turn the steering wheel in case it breaks
