Evening all, still keeping the wheels spinning and the beavers grinning i presume?

Quick question to throw open to the floor...Underwear or no underwear under shorts???? If yes, pants or boxers????

Me and a few other riders can't agree. Personally i can ride with or without. Some say it irritates more etc etc etc...anyway that is enough talk of that area. What do you all think?

None. Never. They are designed to be worn without underwear.*

*assuming you are referring to lycra shorts here.

The only thing that you should wear under the shorts is chamois cream.

I wear polypro briefs because I have to. As I have spoken about in a previous post.
O.K., I have a left nut problem and I'll leave it at that. I can say, without reservation, that if
I didn't have to wear them I wouldn't. I've gotten used to them over the past years
so it's not so much a problem. A little extra "butt butter" here and there and I'm good to go.
For those of you wondering what the hell is wrong with "lefty" you'll have go to
previous posts.  :? :?

Do you wear undies under your swimmers as well? The chamois is made to go next to the skin.

You don't wear anything under bib shorts. Nothing. The pad insert takes the place of underpants or any kind.

Chafing is not good, not nice. If you wear underwear under bib shorts you will get chafing. It's common sense.

Yeah my mom told me to always wear clean underwear in case I got squashed by a bus as well, I have never really understood the logic but it seems all mothers say tha same thing.

    Actually it's less hygenic...

"The fabric and construction of these styles vary greatly. It's important to understand that the main purpose of these pads is to wick moisture and to prevent chafing. And, although the pads are generally thin, it's amazing the comfort improvement you get from the carefully placed padding.

Most pads have several layers. The padding layer is usually made from foam or fleece and can differ greatly in thickness from thin (like the original natural leather chamois) to thick. The top layer is usually made of a technical fabric that wicks moisture, breathes, and prevents bacteria growth. Sometimes other fabrics are used, too."

Conceivably. Of course, Marilyn only wore Chanel No 5 under her bike shorts...

Nothing at all. Despite my advanced years I still dare to go naked under my clothes :)

SWMBO used to wear knickers under hers when she cycled to work so she didn't shock the young women at work when she got changed in the Ladies. I don't think they could cope with an old lady being fitter than they were  Normally she's commando when we go on a proper ride.
