The article looks very light in fact and overly reliant on suggestion and speculation. If the Tour was not on it doubt it would not be published at all. So clearly the paper is looking to capitalise on tour and sell more papers at the expense of cycling, tour and CSC reputation. I totally agree that acusations and speculation needs to be investigated but please investigate fully and record facts this is bar stool talk - it is not suprising that Riis would refuse to comment on it. To do so would only give the paper another doping front page. Even on msg board here u would need better evidence to convience people.
Certainly I think the story needs to be followed up but going to print now is blatant opportunisim!0 -

Why yesterday, and why with any documentacion at all. Sorry there is no German bikers who is plcaed in Tor de France this year, so this must be the reason to the newspaper try it this way.
I just registered on this board to say that your little hypothesis is utter nonsense. It was the german media which criticized their own riders and "forced" them to admit that they took EPO or whatever. The german media eerted the pressure on german riders. Since that campaign against Jan Ullrich and other drivers they always are on the search for other cheaters. So get your facts straight before you try to publish any conspiracy theories.0 -

I went him last year on other forums when info cam out he worked with Ferrari at Telekom. He said he had no r/ship with controversial doctors. And his coach has always been Sassi of Mapei, and everyone knows about Sassi. Point was, if his agent Rominger, put him on to Ferrari for other expert advice circa Telekom, and why? If he worked with Ferrari, at Telekom, then that would raise big questions. A smart clean athlete would refute any potential r/ship prompted by Rominger.0 -
A smart clean athlete probably wouldn't have Swiss Tony as his manager in the first place.Le Blaireau (1)0

Well I've never heard anything bad about Sassi, so please enlighten me.
If he had worked with Ferrari at Telekom, it would raise big questions. Similarly if I had been in Dallas in November 1963 with a snipers rifle it would have raised questions. However, neither of these things happened.
The link last year with Ferrari came from the same German newspaper at the beginning of the thread, in a one line throw away cooment. No-one other media outlet reported it and the newspaper admitted they muddled him up with Mick Rogers.
Also, Rominger isn't some rogue one man band. He works for IMG, the World's biggest and most powerful sports agencyTwitter: @RichN950 -
