Calf Strain

I think i have strained my calf as the muscle is all tight. Its ok for walking although after about 30mins riding the pain is quite a lot as if i have been punched in the leg.
Its not too serious i dont think, but what can i do to speed up healing so i can ride pain free again??
Also any ideas how i could have injured it on the bike seems abnormal to pull a muscle riding?? Perhaps position on bike has something to do with it.......i have my saddle quite far forward but this never posed a problem for the 2 years or so ive had this until now.
Thanks for help

I'm in the same boat as you. Think my strain was caused by an increase in cycling (distance & intensity) when I already had tight calfs. I rested for a few days then started stretching the calf muscles several times a day (and the occasional self-masage). After 10-days the pain and a lot of the tightness has gone away.0
