Ok, I'm going to be rather boring too, though with my recent record of GC picks collapsing in the closing stages of Tours (Simoni in Italy, Devolder in Switzerland), maybe I could be unwittingly livening things up.

    GC: Evans
    Stage 1: Freire
    Best Haircuit: Cavendish

They say that the Tour de France is one of the only races which you need a haircut half way through, but Cav will probably need constant attention to that barnet to keep it as coiffed as it was at the presentation last night.

I really want to pick Cunego for the overall (I've even put money on him at Ladbrokes) but for the sake of the points I'm going to have to go for the obvious choice.

    GC: Evans.
    Stage 1: Kirchen

GC: Frank Schleck (if he doesn't do it this year he never will - then he will be shamed by his younger bro in a year or two)

    Stage 1: Gilbert

Poop the bed I have been so busy recently I nearly forgot the Tour started today!!!

I know I am a little bit late but nothing significant has happened yet that I am aware of so can I say:

    GC: Cadel Evans
    Stage 1: Pip Gilbert
