What a corking final by the way. That must be the best tennis the universe has ever seen. Those two have taken it to new heights :o

And great to see our little girl win the junior edition. Bet the media are pleased because she interviews much better than Murray! Interesting to see how she progresses now.

She interviews better 'cos she's not been screwed by the media yet.

Murray has appologised for the "who's playing England " comment as it was in jest, he also had to make a HUGE climb down when he said he'd served in a match "like a woman"....good grief, I say that kind ofthing everytime I hit a hill steeper that 10%....I know plenty of women who could kick my arse every day on a bike, its just a saying.

Strangely, nice little Wimbledon girl hasn't had to explain her comments that she'll "take her down" when asked how she fancies playing Venus next year in teh main draw.

Problem is Murray is a dour Scot, but at least he's got some arrogant fire in his belly and is angry when he gets beat.

True, although she seems forthcoming and good natured which often goes a long way. Tennis reporting isn't as cut throat as football for example, and it was clear she was having a laugh.

It was noticeable how quiet and focussed both Fed and Rafa were yesterday. Minimal fist pumping and no outbursts. They didn't seem to be using the crowd at all for motivation. Contrast that to Murray who was letting it all hang out.

    Agree with that.

I liked his aggression but it needs a bit of "focus" if it's going to work long term; I kept wondering if his voice would go with all the shouting

Don't know why he would have to climb down....it's pretty obvious that women serve slower 1st serves than men...I believe then men's record is about 148mph whilst nearly all the top pros manage 125-30 whilst the record for women is Venus at about 125 with most serving nearly 100. Bit like Chris Boadman when he said during one Tour he rode like a cyclotourist......contrast that with the comment Tiger Woods made during one tournament...'I played like a spaz'.

That was the most memorable, high quality game of tennis I have ever seen.

The quality of play never seemed to drop, not sure if that was helped by the 2 rain breaks, and whether more mistakes would have crept in if they had played 5 straight sets.

The only shame is that it was won by Fed sticking the ball in the net, rather than a winning shot by one or the other.

I didn't really mind who won, after such a great game, whoever won deserved it.

I did think Fed would have the edge, having won the 3rd & 4th sets, and serving first in the 5th, but it wasn't to be.

Really glad they finished it last night, me thinks the atmosphere would have been seriously dented had they had to come out this morning to play a handful of games.

Stunning game, the next game I watch is going to seem seriously mediocre.

I was convinced this would be a good game, but quite often these games fail to live up to the billing, but this one, for me, completely exceeded it.
