Thank you!!! That has to be a bargain. Even appear to have all sizes.

Ordered. Now where did I put those wheels......

  • Wrong year though. These are 2007 frames. This years are a far nicer (in my opinion) green colour. Still if you've got a full spare parts box it's a bargain.

Nah, green bikes (as with anything) unlucky! Not allowed "green" in our family. One of my great aunts once went to a funeral on a very cold and wet day and died shortly thereafter of pneumonia. This was of course because she wore a dark GREEN coat rather than black. And nothing whatsoever to do with her being over 80 and in poor health and getting soaked through.

    Brown is fine.

the langster's not a real bike anyway. it's a piece of crap in disguise.

    Here it is by here!

  • But 99 for a frame and fork.......

Anyway it is a good way to introduce me to singlespeed which I have wanted to do for a while.

This in fact represents a cost saving as it means I will be able to utilise all those spare parts I have at home. All I need to buy are wheels, stem and pedals. I have the rest of the kit sitting around depreciating!

What? Why on earth do you think that? What IS a real bike? Please tell. Or let me guess....any one that happens to be OLD? And STEEL? Are you even older than me or just a committed wearer of the ol' rose tints?

i'm pulling your leg. really, i'm winding people up.

personally - i love steel and am not a particular fan of relaxed geometry from an aesthetic point of view.

other than that, it's a great starter.

Are there any sizing conventions with a fixie?
Would you go with a slightly smaller frame or same as your geared road/race bike?

    same. as a rule.

if you're riding track it might be different, but as your probably riding fixed on the road, go with the same fit.

Well, I like my current Sirrus (tho' I've just swopped forks back to original steel so as to 'guard it and fitted a "compact" Stronglight) very much also!

    i can't stop tinkering.

i just cut down an old b17 saddle to turn it into a swallow.

i keep swapping things around. it's a disease.

Thank you, Rob! Not a bad price at all and I think the older, mainly plain alloy, parts quite suit it. And it rides pretty good - and a lot lighter than what I'm used to in fixed!

I ordered a 49cm (I'm a short arse, and I've got a 12cm stem I need to use) on Thursday evening. I'm hoping they've got it in stock - I didn't hear anything from them yesterday (Friday) saying they didn't have any.

Looking at the Geometry it was between 49 and 52 for me, but with the 12cm stem I have lying around I get the same reach as all my other bikes.

Is the conical spacer thing counted in the headtube length or is that seperate?

and you can do without it if you want to go lower at the front - or at least the pre-build bikes did so assuming the frame/fork/headset was the same kit - the cone is a spacer that sits on top of (and covers up) the actual top cap of the headset.
