Chain Reacion Cycles: I ordered a SS freewheel on tuesday evening and a delivery attempt was made on thursday but it was carded as being too big. A 3" freewheel too big for a letterbox??? They sent it out in an A4 size box 1" thick. I ordered a chain to go with the freewheel and left a note asking for a jiffy bag and not an oversized box.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Bought the Edinburgh Bike co-op work stand a few weeks ago. Today I take the MTB out of the shed to do some fettling only to find there is no where to grip it with the stand so I'm stuck using my old flash stand :(

Going north on London Bridge, I stay in the Bus Lane and aim to go straight on into the Bus/Cycle lane.

Mr White Van speeds past me on the right and hooks left into that street that leads to upper thames st. Had to whack on the brakes, but wasn't that far off from slamming into his side.

    What a F-Tard :x

Heading down Birchfields Road this morning, taking primary to stop a pass as I'm passing a royal mail van with its hazards on - car behind seems to be fairly close and accelarates to overtake.

The overtake is fine, what isn't fine is the immediate brakes and left signal.

Worst thing is, it's a British Cycling car!

to the skidmark in the refrigerated luton outside smithfields who stamped on his accelerator and pulled out onto the road from his parking spot at no less than an 80 degree angle with no indication whatsoever (he had to turn the van back again to point the van in the direction he actually wanted to go in after his 'manoeuvre') if i had been 1.5 yards further I would have ended up under your front wheels but I sincerely hope I didn't ruin your day or your enjoyment of that cigarette you were holding up to the window the whole time with your spare hand that you clearly don't need to drive with*

*protip: should you not be holding a cigarette that's the hand you would normally use to INDICATE!

To the bastitch who stole the SPDs off my bike at Waterloo.

I hate you. I hope you have an embarrasing clipless moment using them, get a nasty bruise and laughed at by the girl you fancy.

I hope she then rejects your advances, leaving you a bitter wreck with low self esteem who never finds love in his life, and you eventually die cold and alone, regretting the path you took through life and wishing you'd been a better person.

rant at Mrs GB for washing my cycling gear and sticking the tumble dryer on; sealskinz socks x2 melted, hi-viz melted, buff melted.

Not happy, when I mention how much that little lot costed, she then says, "but you said they only cost £x, you paid how much for a pair of socks...etc.

so not only do I lose some of my gear, I also get busted on the cost :(

my tumble dryer has a delicates setting that allows me to put anything in there (although I've never risked the Nightvision jacket). Mind you I did shell out an awful lot for the washing machine (Miele) and tumble dryer (Siemens) so you'd hope they would be good.

1st post in this forum because drivers in Aberdeen are usually considerate but...
Twice on friday passed by different ned mobiles with guys shouting at me for no reason. Then today coming downhhill with parked cars on either side doing about 24mph had a guy in a Range rover blasting his horn and gesticultaing because I wouldnt cycle in the door zone to let him past. I must have held him up for at least 20secs. What amazed me was how angry he was!

  • Just noticed that the taped seams are all lifting on my 13 month old Endura Flyte...and I've looked after it according to the instructions :(

I've emailed Endura to ask their advice, anyone know what their customer service is like...am I wasting my time?

Seriously gutted because up until now I've raved about this jacket to any cyclist that has asked.

If it's any consolation the broken jaw should be construed as GBH which means the judge will have no other option than to jail the prick.

Snapped the front CCRRmk2 tonight on the way home and couldn't work out where the rattle was coming from luckily I have a spare of the section that has broke but it means a new bracket for the Tricross. Personally I think it might be karma from the Scooter gods as I chased and passed on of their kind 3 mins before.

  • not so much a rant as a what the?

coming from parkshott road to turn on to the A316 with the van full of lads and lasses, bike goes down the left side and waits, now normally this isn't a problem.

but parkshott is hardly a busy road, it was only the van and her.

we wanted to get home down the A316 she wanted to cross which so she needed to wait for the A316 to be clear on both lanes while I could go as soon as there was a gap,

it's not just cars that don't engage brain, normally it's mopeds that do that on the whole.

forgot my gloves until I was getting on the bike outside my flat this morning but was also running late so couldn't run back upstairs to grab them :(

and a (genuine) thanks to the lady cyclist outside london bridge who let me filter back into the near side cycle lane just before the ped crossing after I'd correctly filtered up the RIGHT hand side of the bus and lorry that were having a standoff over who would pull ahead first in the traffic queue and blocking the rest of the road.

a big f**k you to the 5 cyclists ahead of her who decided rather than tap the brakes even slightly you'd all rather push past me leaving me stuck side on to traffic between a van and a lorry. given the left hand side was blocked you must have jumped up on the pavement to even get there in the first place. I hope we get a rainy spell soon and you all f**k off back to just being the idiots who push and shove their way onto already massively overcrowded trains because let's face it you're exactly the type of idiots who do that too.

Left my key in my locker when I left work last night for the cycle home. Shouldn't have been a problem as shoes, deodorant and a few other assorted bits and bobs were inside it meaning it was clearly in use. Come in this morning and my locker has been emptied and is now being used by someone else. The real killer though is that the new locker holder is using my £1 coin! Not sure whether to be angry or just shrug it off and blame myself for my forgetfulness and applaud him for siezing the opportunity (these lockers are in demand).
