I had a click that happened every revolution of the chain, couldn't for the life of me work out what was causing it.....until I was collecting an exploded chain from the bus lane a week or so later.

Fortunately it is every pedal stroke, so shouldn't be the chain.

It isn't the front derailleur cable colliding with the RHS crank, is it?
Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.

Don't think so, I certainly haven't felt it. Will check but pretty sure that wasn't the cause.

Front derailleur has cross threaded a limit screw

Drill out thread and use nut and washers to position - get the end of the screw correct with washers at the head end and then lock in position with nut (and locking solution) at the other end. If your derailleur has enough space to implement you can ride like that for years.

Or better and more obvious solution --> N+1

Ordered online and had the despatch email with a Yodel tracking reference on Tuesday so since then I've had two delivery attempts when I've been in work so thought after today's missed delivery I'll collect from the depot but I can't make that arrangement as the parcel is stilt out for delivery at 1am.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Saw another lorry-on-bike accident at the Cheyne Walk/battersea bridge junction. This time, was sure the guy was a goner but luckily he was OK.

Same scenario. Heading East, the "turn left" lane filled with bikes - set off - lorry doesn't see a single one of them and when the curb comes back in, there's no room for the cyclist.

    Lorry driver was very angry.

Cyclist didn't want my deets - fairly sure the lorry driver didn't offer any, but I have the lorry's numberplate, so if it was you and you're reading this, I'll happily share them.

    Multi Rant

Durham police if we agree on something don't do the exact opposite then criticize me (complaint to do).

Snapped spoke on way home wheel so out of true was still catching opened brakes only 1/2mile from home thankfully.

Muppet who is insisting (3 times now) on walking down the middle of the road weaving about for no reason when there's a perfectly usable path. One day it wont be a bike that has to take evasive action you haven't heard. And don't tell me to jump red lights you've already shown your lack of intelligence there's no need to prove it.

Lots of eejits walking into the middle of the road into city centre of Manchester today when cars are moving. Knock on effect if that cars swerve and nearly hit you! Annoying!

It doesn't get any better with Yodel. Had to do an errand for my Dad but go back home in plenty of time and watched the number of deliveries before mine slowly reach zero, as soon as it showed zero I was stood on the doorstep and was waiting there for 5 minutes and refreshing the tracking page then it showed a delivery attempt was made whilst I was stood on the doorstep but the driver couldn't access the door :x I phoned up Yodel and explained the story to the poor guy on the other end of the phone who put me on hold and came back to me 60 seconds later saying he'd called the local depot who'd called the driver and told him to come back to my address, like hell did he.
Now just going to let the driver keep coming to my place and not make any special effort on my part to be in or arrange collection. Every Yodel delivery has been troublesome.

Been hearing a clicking while pedaling for about 3 days, couldn't work out what it was.
Frigging bottom bracket cup was slightly loose from frame, and the drive side pedal has failed for the third time in a year. Yet another round trip to the bike shop for warranty replacement.

They messed up our recycling collection last week. Tuesday.

Promised to try again, Wed, Thu, Fri all pass.

So, we'll put it out on Tuesday again, which would be no bother.

Other than the 'new system' starts Tuesday, so a resorting of all the existing stuff into new containers (and separating all out) is required.

Got told to f-off this morning by someone on Thames cycle path who looked suspiciously like mrs miggins from blackadder,

all I did was thumb she should be on the other side of the path as she was cycling on wrong side on empty lane.

Jeez I'm glad you found that out before it found you out!

The creak had been driving me nuts for a couple of weeks, coming and going depending on whether it was wet or dry. I came on here and got lots of sage advice, none of which solved the problem. Some kind soul eventually pointed out to me that my rear wheel was way out of true - I have disc brakes so no brake rub to tell me. I thought might just need re-trueing, but closer inspection revealed an inch long crack round one of the nipples. I had some spare cash, so bought new wheels, which I'd been meaning to do anyway. Hey presto - noise gone. I always make a point of letting people know if their rear wheel is wonky now.

I'm usually not close enough behind you on the commute to have noticed, otherwise I would have pointed it out!

I think I saw her, too. Heading south from Holborn viaduct on the Farringdon Street segregated path, at about 10am. I only had about 4hrs sleep last night so it didn't really register as that odd.

Ha, you're normally ahead of me, until I realise it's you and gas myself while pretending it's not hurting!

No, the pro-lites were the replacements. It was the rims that came with the bike that split. No problems with the pro-lites apart from levering tyres on.

Left my riding legs elsewhere tonight, think I worked too hard. The ride home took 10% longer, yes there was a headwind but nothing to slow me down by as much as I did tonight.

Annoyed with ortlieb hook inserts. Having sorted tyre bolt issue with locrite thread lock glue stuff I'm now having to find a way to not lose the hook inserts. I'm convinced Ortlieb makes half its revenue from spares to replace the bits that fall off.

Anyone got a solution to not lose these inserts?

really, mine have been going for several years now without an issue, well other than; loctiting all of the bolts on and replacing the buckles (ortileb replaced for free)

Yes really. I've read on other sites it's an issue with the bolts and inserts. We've had to buy the bolts and hook inserts. Fortunately I need different ones to my partner's rack. I think it could be incorrect fitting but personally I reckon it's a loose pack. They go in with a satisfying click so I know they're in but a few days of riding they're loose. It's not like you can just.pick up parts from your local shop neither. I think the design should be done better.

Garmin 25s. They don't like a 40°C wash cycle. Well first time ok but not a second. Good job I only paid £45 for mine in ALDI.

Even before the wash it was playing up. It was a struggle to turn on, the power button needed pressing just right and jiggling too.

QL2 for me, bought in 2011, used for 70% of my journeys since then.

    QL1 or 2 I can't remember which. The first one I think because it's a bit different from my partner's QL2.

I've read.on other sites with a lot of cycle tourists that the bolts and inserts are likely to drop off. My partner and I have experienced this. When I spoke to a touring specialist and Ortlieb specialist retailer he said they always keep those and other parts because ppl lose them. He reckoned Ortlieb should sell them cheaply individually and he didn't know why they don't. On one forum people talked of a group buy thing for a pack of bolts. One bought the pack of bolts then sold the others off at cost. I didn't join and now have a large pack of spare bolts I didn't need.
