I think they sent this one to a Belgian lab and they couldn't make head nor tail of it. The French lab said it was OK though...Le Blaireau (1)0

PS I might actually considering shelling out for this. It's so niche, and appeals to the science geek within me,,,Le Blaireau (1)0

what's an EPO spectrogram?0
-
It's the way they test for r-epo, using a technique called gel electrophoresis. They apply the sample to one end of a gel plate, and apply an electric current across the plate. Different glycoforms of r-epo (the same epo protein but with different sugars attached to it) and isoforms move across the plate to different extents as their mass-to-charge ratio is different. This produces bands like the ones you see on the T-shirt. Natural epo tends to have a different pattern of bands from r-epo but the test is much more open to interpretation than e.g. the synthetic testosterone isotope ratio mass spectrometry test, which is basically a yes/no output.
Whoah, science geekery got really carried away there!Le Blaireau (1)0 -

The Sydney lab said it's upside down. The UCI have asked for a re-print.
Bjarne Riis is sueing for breach of copywrite law.
Lance Armstrong has said he has got a TUE to wear one."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

The French lab wrinkled it up until it looked right, but the Belgain lab insisted on ironing it first. :P
I'm getting one. Wait til they release a Rapha edition suit with bike related lining in the jacket....Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
Rapha edition testosterone patches. Awesome. Sign me up.Le Blaireau (1)0

Hmmm - it just looks like you've dripped the chocolate and strawberry parts of your Neapolitan ice cream down it ?0

You could always have got a manufacturers jersey - I tried to get one when Amgen were setting up shop here in Ireland:
'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -
Looks to me like the spectrogram of vitamin C. Apparently it always stays clean but it's Rapha, so presumably it's woven from the hair samples collected by WADA and the price will probably make even Lance Armstrong's lawyer hesitate.0

Where can you by the Rapha one from?0

I'm not sure "spectrogram" is the right word to describe the output from a gel electrophoresis. I can't think what the right word is, though...
And how much is a Rapha copy of The Rider? 50 quid?Le Blaireau (1)0 -
£6. And worth every penny.0

love the amgen jersey too, that's pretty funny0

If you bought the rapha t-shirt could you deny it and claim it was your mother in law who did it?
Much in the same way as iainf72 has done in claiming the hampsten jersey has been bought for him...0 -

and shouldn't the image run from bottom-to-top rather left-to-right?
Somewhere in the back of my mind is the nagging doubt that after everyone has ponied up for these shirts, some Professor Frink-type will tell us "Hoyvin-glayvin, what we see is the fingerprint of the chief component of bull poop, with the smell and the browness and the electrophoresis. Mw-hurgn-whey"'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -

That's just what the bitter poor people want to happen. Then they'll tell us their home made "Ride Clean" t-shirt cost a fiver.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

Whats wrong with that? I've made a "Gimp" helmet out of a few dozen "I support drug-free sport" wristbands and the zipper from my "Let Levi Ride" limited edition jersey.

I am eyeing up "the musette"... does anyone know if it would take a laptop?0

Don't think so - The specs are on the webpage but I think it's about 13" by 9".
Just right for your magazine, paper, mints and aftershave.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
By magazine of course you mean "Rouleur"? Come on, own up!
I have to say, the recent issue featuring Alpe d'Huez is something I'd like to have a look at. Wonder if the local library stock it...Le Blaireau (1)0 -

Anyway, back on topic - Rapha's returns policy is very good so order one and if you don't like it you can return it and get your money back. I've done this with them before and had no problems whatsoever. Go on, you know you want to.0
