mild calf strain from cramp

It was raining yesterday so I did a fairly intensive 1 hour ride on the indoor trainer. I was trying to beat my best time so I was pushing it quite a lot all the way (sweating buckets of course which I'm not currently used to doing outdoors due to still quite mild temperatures) and then going all out in the last 200m. 2 or 3 seconds before crossing the line my left calf muscle on the inside suddenly cramped really badly. I hardly ever cramp when cycling, the only time I've had anything like this before was when running. The muscle is still a little tender today so I guess the cramp has strained it slightly.
Should I stretch, massage, ice, or whatever? Opinions seem to differ about massage, i.e. how soon afterwards and how forcefully.
Next time I'll drink more and eat my bananas...
