big calves - water retention?

is there any particular reason why my calves are considerably bigger for my ride home than when I get up in the morning? I know it sounds like a weird post but I was wondering if it was due to water retention or something caused by sitting all day after a morning ride? they generally feel much tighter and 'swollen' in the evening despite stretching and drinking about 5 litres of water during the day.

Any ideas anyone or is it just WAAAAYYY too random a question?!

During the day? gravity at work would be my guess! Blood & body fluids gather there normally. Feet can often be one size bigger at the end of a day.
But puffyness - that holds a finger imprint should be worth a doctors visit. 5 litres sounds like a lot GAts - especially as you're probaly not eating lke normal mortals Gats!!

Gats, you must spend the whole day p*ssing! Or have a bladder the size of a beach ball.

Gats has an 'unusual' relationship to food and nutrition in general: not sure rinking 5 litres of water a day is necessarily good for you but if kidneys work it shouldn't contributetto fat calves
    Do you measure them Gats?
    no don't answer....

Maybe the 5 litres of water heads straight to your calves ? (2 1/2 each) :) .

Echo the others, that's a lot of water Gats
