When i'm doing some road trainning I like to listen to a bit of music to keep me going.
At the moment I mostly listen to pendulum as it has a good beat to ride to, but i'm getting a bit bored of the one album, anyone know of anything simlar?

Anyone seen Ogonzilla's videos on You tube?

Lance and Beloki descending to the Foo Fighter's Everlong is great drama (if distressing). Got that track on the high tempo playlist on the ipod.

  • I'm not really a fan of extreme hi-nrg music (I like to call it chav beats lol), but there is an album I downloaded called "Ultimate NRG 3" or something and I find it really good when i'm on my trainer. The BPM is perfect and it's constant through the whole album. :)

nothing like a bit of DnB to get you up tough climbs...

Hmmm, the only time I want to listen to music on a bike is maybe an overnight ride at about 5 a.m. when it's freezing cold, I'm sleep-deprived and in need of some distraction to keep going. Generally though I find the rigid tempo of whatever is playing too limiting for the minute changes of pace of pedaling cadence and so music is a hindrance in that respect, even on a turbo trainer.

Yes Pedylan, great vid isn't it and a great tune. If you have that in your ears when out on a ride its the kind of thing that just makes you get out of the saddle and push on for the next 4 minutes or so. A great feeling I find. I remember when I set my top speed (a modest 45mph) that Automatic song with the chrous "whats that coming over the hill is it a monster?" came on the radio. Not a great song, but when flying down a descent it keeps your hands off the brakes a bit! Probably a bit dangerous with the gung ho juju flowing but it feels great!

Back to the original post...I'd suggest some goa trance compilations. Or something by Hallucinogen. Bit more interesting than straight techno type stuff.

Being a child of the seventies, I remember going to the cinema to watch the rocky movies then having a good 'joking' fight outside, then going home, doing the press ups and eating the raw eggs. So for me there's only one album to train to, ROCKY.

I have a load of random records on my ipod, tonight when doing an interval, 'War' came on, hr jumps up into that magic zone and I produce the perfect 6 min interval, result. :)

Try that. 8bit tribute to Kraftwerk. The covers of Antenna, The Model, Tanzmuzik and Computer Love are all great.
