When will this winter end. This has got to be one of the longest on record. I had the right ar5e today on my 50 miler. Winter has finally cracked me. I long for the days when I can wear less clothes and not take half of the English countryside home with me.

Did we even get a winter this year? Seems more like an extended autumn to me0

You got that right; mildest winter I can remember. Just so long as it doesn't start snowing in May!0 -
weather is something that happens to other people. Makes no difference to me.
True though that it does seem to have lasted about a year and a half so far. Was all toasty and warm on friday then saturday grey, sunday cold and raiing and tonight the gritters are out again! What the hell is that about? Strange though, I quite like bicycling in the dark mornings. I've got so used to it that if its light when I get to work I think I'm late!

Are you dressing accordingly - has been fairly mild really - only missed a couple of days this year due to ice, that's it - commuted every day. Yeh, it's been wet, but it's always wet....
Not quite going to end this week - going cold again and maybe some snow showers up North (ie. Scotland),,,, think the thermal windproof will be out for the morning's commute.
Looking forward to the warmer weather, but I don't mind too much.0 -
Lovely day today I thought, bit nippy for mid march but dry and not as windy as it has been of late - shame I couldn't get out.
it's a hard life if you don't weaken.0 -

Must admit I don't usually get too pissed of with the weather but I have been pretty hacked off this year...not that its been too cold...more that its been just consistently crap , rain + windy weather...think I feel it even more due to working days and not getting out at nights due to darkness and with only being usually able to get out on a Saturday for a decent run my chances of even just dry weather is very low...personally i've been blown and pissed down on aorund 75% on my runs so far this year,no matter what anyone says, cycling in the UK is very hard on morale...maybe why I've felt more like this over the past 2 years is that I've entered the FWC in early May and you simply have to go out in all sorts of crap weather on big hilly runs just to get even fit enough. We cannot pretend that the UK is an ideal place for outdoor pursuits...its not - its crap...but if you love the sport.....put up with it.0

It's going to be colder over the Easter weekend than it was during January, apparently. :shock:0

Definitely colder and windier today. Snow on the moors so had to give them a miss"A cyclist has nothing to lose but his chain"

You need to do what I do. Never leave the house on a bike until the temperature
equals your age. I'm 60. Or better yet, if you really hate riding in foul weather take up
running in the so called "off season". It's good stuff.

You wearing the right cloths? In fact I've hardly used my bib longs this winter. 3/4's every day so far.
Can't beat a fine crisp sunny winter ride. Seeing your own energy expelled as visible breath in the low sunlight dazzle. Numb feet. Warm tea. Top stuff.0 -
It's hard to get out on the bike in bad weather without motivation. Without a target to aim for you will always find an excuse not to train. Different things motivate different riders. Do a bit of self-analysis and discover what makes you tick and then tell someone what you plan to do. Sharing that goal will give it meaning and make all the difference.
If not then don't beat yourself up over it. You don't want to do it badly enough that's all.0 -
I'm lucky to live in a place where I can take several months off my bike (outdoors, at least) and still maintain my aerobic base with my XC skis. Now, +2 or +3 degrees C seems warm and a dry road is a rare pleasure.It\'s not how many miles you put in, but what you put into the miles that counts0
