Lighter than I was 25 years ago but heavier than I was 10 years ago. The variation is probably only +/- 5kg. I've always found it a bit strange that lightest and strongest came at the same time.

Must be all the pies the rest of the time.

    Now stuck at 75kg for 5' 10".

Succesfully put on a few stone via Eating & (Home) Bench/Weights over the last few years - spent the last 9 months losing 2 stone approx though (for Sportives/Cycling this summer) - quite pleased, in as much as the weight goes on and off when I want it to (within reason).

I am 41 and 5ft 11" and was about 12 stone for most of my 20's! Got married (part of the blame as my wife is a very good chef!) and stopped playing football in the same year, 1996 and by 2002 I weighted in at 17 stone. I discovered cycling and am now about 13.5 stone. I got down to under 13 for last years etape and aim to get sub 13 again within the next few months!

When I started cycling regularly in summer 2006 I weighed 13st 12lbs - now I'm a trimmer 12st 7lbs but I've been as low as 12st 3lbs. I want to get down to 11st 7lbs which at 5' 10" is probably about right, though gym work resulting in increased muscle mass may see my weight stay at around 12st. Tthe big difference is that suits which were getting more than a little snug now fit well again and 34" jeans are nice and baggy!
  • Hi there.

I'm the same weight now, as I was 15 years ago at age 19. ~69kg

However - here's my personal bug bear: dumming down of clothes sizes.

While I used to be a large or a medium (at 5'11"), I now have to buy small sizes to find clothes that don't hang off me. And all the f*****g sleeves are too short now...

I bought some new underpants the other day - size small, but with a 32inch waist, far too baggy. Maybe I just have a small packet...

    Cheers, Andy

I was about 12st right through 'till I was about 26, then slowly climbed to 15st. You know how some people have a weakness for chocolate, or crisps. Well my weakness is FOOD. I have had a desk job since I was 26, so that has contributed to the weight gain, but so have all the Tv chefs who show you how easy it is to make very nice but very fattening food. I really need to get as rocket up my @ss to sort this out, as I want to do a couple of sportives this year (for rocket please read several cruise missiles and the entire arms store of the HMS Invincible). I have all the good intentions in the world to eat healthily and well, but then the devil appears on my shoulder with two mars bars and a six pack.

have you noticed that Jamie has piled on the weight? his arms just look like big lumps of lard!
Good luck Tony! It's hard work. I'm struggling because cycling in the cold is making me STARVING!

He has a bit hasn't he. Got to admit tho' he has changed my eating habits a bit. Watched the program he did 'Eat to save your life'. I only buy meat from a farm up the road, and haven't touched a supermarket sausage roll since.

redvee, I could just about bench press you.
Actually, I'm exaggerating - about 10 years ago I would have bench pressed you. Not anymore, I'm a weed now. A heavy weed.

Damn that's a good bench press none the less

I cant be arsed to convert to kilos :D When I worked in a coal face and was racing I was 11stone. When the mines closed and I left I went to 12stone straight away and never got back below that.
I am about 12st10 currently and hope to get down to about 12 st if possible.
I just need to do more miles and eat less sweets. I blame my kids, they keep bringing sweets home and don't hide them good enough !!
