Meniscus tear, cycle racing

Double medial tear (L&R knee) ...brilliant. Partial removal needed...anyone had this surgery, cycle quite a lot (eg 200km/week) ...and not arthritic!?

I'm having an ACL done right now but can't give you definite meniscus advice. After a lot of research I'm fairly satisfied that two of the best (if not the best anywhere) consultants to speak to (you should be able to get an NHS referral or private) are:

I can't give you medical advice but I would certainly advise you to research like mad and ask lots of questions and look for alternatives. Don't rush - get it right - as we both know we only have one set of knees.

I have had 4 of these ops and it seemed to differ on all of them.
On the first one I was playing rugby again after 4 weeks, then on one of them playing squash after 3 weeks but the last one was worst and did not do anything for 5 months.
Your surgeon can give you a very good estimate as he knows the damage and also knows what he has to repair.
