Hand built wheels don't have to be 36 hole Ultegra hubs on Open Pro rims!
Indeed - I might have a Record rear hub, but the rim is a 24 hole, 38mm deep AC420. Far, far more exclusive than a set of Mavics.

Is that the one you have on your tandem?

No Geoff - the tandem has 32 hole rims. Rigida DP22 rims (it takes MTB 26" wheels, and these were certainly the only V shaped rims that size when I built them ~10 years ago) on Sachs Quartz hubs. The AC420s are part of my current new bike project.

OK, thanks. I must get round to sorting out our tandem again.
