Riding consecutive days

Been given both saturday and sunday off for the forseeable future, so intending to make the most of it.
I was wondering if anyone had tips to riding consecutive days. I did it last weekend (75 miles on saturday, 55 on sunday) and found I struggled a bit on sunday, especially when I got split from the group into the wind.
My aim is to build up to a hilly 60 miler one day and a flat 100 the the other.
The advice I need the most I think is keeping fuelled. I eat plenty at cafe stops (usually a sandwich + scone + can of coke) but I have never use isotonic type drinks while training. Will they make a difference?
Also whats good to eat after a ride to be prepared for the next day?

Personally, I try to make up base miles during the week and avoid doing a big ride two days running. If you're going to do that though, there's no special food, just make sure you eat enough - it's surprising how much you need to chow down to make up for the energy expenditure. I'm a big fan of a protein hit (eg half a dozen scrambled eggs!) but most of the scientific literature points to carbs being more important.
As for 'isotonic' drinks, that just means the level of glucose concentration is the same as normal blood levels, the theory being it will re-hydrate you quicker as opposed to hypotonic or hypertonic, which have a lower or higher concentraion of sugars. If you are having a cafe stop then you can get enough carbs from solid food, I use energy drink as I find it's easier to get calories from a drink when I'm riding really hard without a stop.
I think a lot of people tend to worry too much about food, calories etc when rest is just as important. A cat nap straight after a ride and then an early night should sort you out for the next day.0
