The woman who stops traffic

Yes, Shameless and the royal family are both good shows but they are also focussed on white working class britain. My point wasn't that programming was rubbish but that the group identified by the BBC as neglected by TV programming are in fact very well catered for and represented.0

gave up with last weeks prog, as Channel 4 on Demand confused me totally, but i see it's on again tonight (Durham this time), C4 at 9.
With Shameless on directly afterwards.0 -
I know Durham has some of the most crowded trains in the country, so I'm guessing the road traffic's even worse
True - we found last year that the 7:59 Durham-Newcastle trainwas the most overcrowded in the country, running over capacity by 88%.
Durham should be interesting...Campaign for Better Transport: www.bettertransport.org.uk0 -
Seems like Durham was quite a success! Despite everything conspiring against her, with the weather being rather bad and an accident on the motorway meaning traffic was diverted through the town she still had a rather good impact!
I couldn't believe the lovely cycle path that they had that lead into the town centre, you'd have to be mad to not use that and sit in traffic! 1.5 mile cycle or 30 minutes in the car....
After last weeks resounding failure in Boston this really did go to show how much easier it can be by bike, but then most journeys in a crowded city are faster by bike!
My only complaint was not hearing an explanation from the guy who came up in the short sections who proclaimed "cyclist's should be banned from the roads!" - I'd love to know his reasoning behind that as personally I think people who have that attitude should be banned from driving!!0 -
Well I have only just got around to watching the Boston episode.
I was just horrified at attitude of people.
Funniest comment was about the pavements not being even ! :?:
I hate stereotyping, but the phrase "thick pikeys" springs to mind. Apologies to any Bostonites reading this.0
