Shoulders

I've started riding my fixed for training rides as my road bike is out of action due to a fall

I have noticed that I am using my shoulders and arms more on climbs. This is confirmed as I can feel it the next day. Does anyone else notice this?

It's probably because you're pushing a higher gear with a fixie than you would with a geared bike on a climb.
    I like bikes...

I get the same doing standing starts opn track during training, also on some climbs when going hard.
But it must be in our minds as i have read on here many times that you dont need/or use your arms for climbing 8)

I used to ride a single speed mtb in winter and hated getting off so really ground the pedals up steep hills which resulted in shoulders aching and the worse was on my forearms from pulling so hard on the bars. Your experiences are probably normal!
