oh on a road bike you need implausibly small rear sprockets.

its a classic 1960's steel framed road bike and thats the only gear at the moment
it might get gears and its little down tube shifter put back on
the mountain bike is 32 16 and also steel framed - don't like aluminium and won't ride carbonMy signature was stolen by a moose

50:2! Now your just being silly, thats obviously only gonna be on a track bike and they're not real men, they are emotionless machines, devoid of interaction with the real world! If you want a real man he'll have gears AND know how to use them.0

what was this thread about in the beginning?
the singlespeed is an On-One Inbred (just a normal one, i don't need lots of suspension :P )
the thread was origionaly about introducing my girlfriend to mountain biking,
she now has a bike (trek 7000) and i know of a variety of tracks and trails,
might just take her on an easy XC ride so she can get used to the bike
any tips on setting the bike up for her would be goodMy signature was stolen by a moose

If your thinking of cannock as a starter run then FTD is perfect just the one killer hill, and there is always the heritage trail to ride back if she gets fed up!
Best time to go is mid week when its quiet, weekends are just stupidly busy and not the best place for a new starter to gain confidence, also take the new sections slowly some jumpy bits in there now!!0 -

a 2 toothed sprocket wouldn't work, you need at least 3 teeth or you'd have moments when the sprocket slipped
personally i don't believe it's possible to have a sprocket on a bike that is less than 5 teeth due to it having to have the axle running through it
anyway, back to the subject...My signature was stolen by a moose

thank you, this is the kind of thing i'm wanting to know.
i've found out about some small trails near where we live which would serve well for setting up the bike for her.
i'm convinced she'd prefer a shorter stem, but she claims to be fine - we'll see
it's possible that we'll be going up to visit her parents soon, who's garden backs onto the tissington trail, so that'd serve as a getting used to the bike ride despite it being quite flat
she rode it home from my flat last night and seemed quite happy with it.My signature was stolen by a moose

My missus was fed up being a bike widow at the weekend so I've convinced her to join me.
Picked her up a Scott Aspect 55 last night 8)

Iv just completed my MIAS Level 2 Mountain Bike Leaders Course the other week. there was a girl there the same age as me (eighteen) who really surprised me, she never gave up and after the couple of days was talking about "that last berm" and the such. The only difference was that it was wine at the end whereas the guys had Ale
EDIT: and the tits of course0
