I'm not sure we want a thread of pensioners.

I want to be just like Redddddrrraaggonnn.

I love these 'exchanges.' Makes my wife laugh.

Yes, in Ynkee Land it means respect. OK the gloves are on. You guys are so predictable. Especially you, Dragon.

Hats off, from "Yankee Land."

Calling a girl, a girl isn't disrespectful in this country.

If you don't want to conform the general consensus of the English Language, on a largely British Forum, you don't have to, but I don't think you should be trying to impose your Americanisms on us.

Girl is not meant as a disrespectful term in this case, it is just a less formal way of saying "Young Women".

Come on, you guys can't even spell "Aluminium".

You must be dense. Really, really dense. Who, as mature male adult, has a desire for girls? And the women who may post here surely don't appreciate being called girls. This has to be a cultural thing. I'll stick with women. Full grown, mature, lushious women. Best female of any 'species' (sic) on the planet. The respect they certainly deserve.

I'm amazed that you don't understand the difference.

Thanks for enlightning me there. I not sure my simple question waranted the 'dense' accusation.
Speaking as a 'full grown lusciuos mature woman' (I have exceeded my 17th birthday) I can advise that girliness is a state of mind and less to do with chronology! 8)

I'm 50 years of age and the women I know refer to themselves as girls, just as many women in the USA do.

Oh, and children are 16 years of age and younger over here, we grow up quicker I guess

Bikers46 just seems to make heavy weather over things ...

Perhaps he/they are a bit "tightly wrapped?"

Gray, I'm always tightly wrapped. Always. Perhaps??? Never perhaps.

Actually, it's really amazing how easy 'you guys' get tweaked over anything anyone says that does not sound British, or whatever you call it. You have zero humor about subjects that most 'yanks' really see as stupid. What pedals, what seat post, what bar ends..................I mean really.................do you consult your 8 ball and bike radar for everything you do? It really seems so, then when some dork like me takes a stab, you lose it. My wife laughs evertime I show her these boards.' Asks me "What's wrong with those people?"

OK, now as usual, step up and defend it, or get a sense of humor and learn to laugh with people who don't know you. Damn.

    Hi Bikers,
I really don't mind being called a girl. I go for girls nights out, watch girly films, have girly chats etc. On my nights out with the girls, I'm the spring chicken of the group at a ripe old age of 34. What about the golden girls - they're ancient!
I don't think it's disrespectful to be called a girl here.

Actually most people are drawn to this forum out of the love of bikes and cycling. Maybe sad to say that I could talk about pedals and seat posts all day, it is the stuff of life to me!

I shan't ask what an 8 ball is, you kicked off last time I asked a question.

Anyway, I'm glad your wife can laugh

Personally I found some of the pictures in the GIL thread offensive. I'm talking of course about the shots with mountain bikers in.

No I do think it gives a bit of an impression that the forum is a boys club - there's a bit of a grey area because you don't want the forum run by the taliban but at the same time you don't want to give the impression that men just see women in cycling as titilation. The glamour type shots are out of place on a cycling forum. Similarly with some shots of women in racing kit - either a shot of them from behind or with their zip low - I mean if they took shots of blokes changing before a road race and then stuck them up on a website I'd think that was a bit odd - funny maybe but I'm sure the joke would wear thin if repeated on every website and commented on at length.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

I go away when I want to.

These forums/boards amuse me more than they do anything else. They certainly don't trip my wire. There's really no way to take them seriously, or any need to.

There are two other forums that aren't even close to as funny as this one, and better for research, if that were ever needed for buying.

By far, this is the funniest forum.

Don't p!ss me off again.

It started as whether exploiting women on forums such as this is right or wrong, and if it tends to alienate women from the sport of biking and participating in forums such as this.

They started whacking me when I expressed that I never call women girls. Go figure.

See what I mean about being easily distracted.

Damn, did it again. 'Guess I'm addicted.

    Hmmm some humour for you......

You know you're from Ringgold, GA when
    ...
The Halloween pumpkin on your front porch has more teeth than your spouse.

You let your twelve-year-old daughter smoke at the table in front of her kids.

You've been married three times and still have the same in-laws.

You think a woman who is "out of your league" bowls on a different night.

Jack Daniel's makes your list of "Most Admired People."

You think Genitalia is an Italian airline.

You wonder how gas stations keep their restrooms so clean.

Someone in your family died right after saying "Hey, y'all watch this!"

Your Junior/Senior prom had a daycare.

You lit a match in the bathroom and your house exploded right off its wheels.

Ya' can't git married to yer sweetheart 'cause there's a dang law against it.

You think loading the dishwasher means getting your wife drunk.

Your toilet paper has page numbers on it
