At least to stop all this scrabble/word games malarky - I think it's scared GT Destroyer & Co away.... come back man......

I'm all ears

I am fully expecting Andrew156 to come back with some fancy new carbon extravagance... or another new bike :lol:

  • Can't wait to find out what it is - sounds very intruiging!!! I must say!

I have ordered the V2s for the Mythic....

Just now working out whether or not to go with my Diabolus double and bash (which I have already with a standard chain tensioner (Blackspire stinger) as I will be running the front mech....

    OR

Buy a single RaceFace DH ring, lose the front mech and buy a E13 LG1

Taking longer than I thought to get it up and running (wildcard) but I did buy the Attack Trail meantime which held me up......

brilliant ha ha, was telling a friend about the "one ideal bike" thread in the mbuk office forum and he was asking why on earth would you want only one? "i'm up to 9 completes now"

need to send back my marin 06 alpine trail frame as i discovered a crack  and hoping its covered by warranty. ridden for 6 months :(
I'm saving up for a marin quake 7.3
then i need to get full face - giro remedy
upper body armour suit - either 661 or dianese
helmet camera - atc2000 for ~£100 or a proper 60gb/520 line camera for £400 (doubles up as a 60gb mp3/video player though so its a close decision)

oh and I'm getting a set of 719's on hope pro II's from merlins (obviously) due to 2 snapped spokes in my rear wheel and the front hit a rabbit once and I've never got it straight.

and a new front commuting light as i'm selling my hope vision 2 led lights to a guy on here (ready to get next years version :D:D:D)

    that's...about it i think.

for some reason I'm expecting to be flat broke for the next few months and am working overtime. the things we do for biking eh.

lets not go into the cost of the holiday to morzine/les gets, 60,000 mile major service on the car, mot due soon and also saving for my first house HA HA its all fun.
  • Ahh with biker's definitive answer

Well - post pics when done my good man!

indeed i will. I'm *hoping* by the end of summer i will have:
on-one inbred 456 geared frame turned into singlespeed commuter bike maybe coaster brake and v-front brake
marin frame similar to my alpine trail built up for all mountain/xc
    marin quake 7.3
    and my bmx :D

i think thats *broadly* all bases covered. not into trials and the bmx does dirt jumps, street and park better than an mtb (sorry  )

what shall i get next? maybe sell marin all mountain for an orange 5 or something

coaster brakes do not normally come in MTB width hubs and spacing is fun as it requires modification to the torque bar. Good luck.

  • Morning all.

It could be THIS WEEK when my frame finally arrives. I have all the other bits apart from tyres. I'm thinking Nobby nics or some version of Panaracers, it would probably be fire XC pros.

I just got my discs from Halfords, I've gone for 203 monsters, but I still have the 160's that came with my groupset, just in case I think its a bad idea - I'll see how I get on with the 203's.

Me and easyG are planning to do a bit of street/freeride when we get our rigs, not solely AXC stuff.

So thats me - Just waiting for the frame.

All the scrabble b-u-l-l-s-h-i-t threads have no real purpose, they are just there, they are never going to achieve anything, just mindless posts. The top 10 lists got people thinking, involved and they were there for a reason. Its just posting for posts sake in the scrabbley word threads, but if people like them then I can't complain, at least its a bit busier in here than bafore Christmas.

  • ahhhhhh GT - welcome back man!

im starting work at alpine bikes this weekend and in 3 months time i get some real good perks from them as in trade price parts etc

the freeride section is dead and has been for weeks, what tyres, what bike can i get etc if you've £2000 for a freeride bike you can get alot of bikes so do the loagical thing and look same with downhill, like i say to people its your choice research research and research then go test ride and decide.
