I can take the power reading to about 340w on slope/resistance '0', but when I increase the resistance to try to take my power higher, the power reading begins to go down rather than up! The only explanation I can think of is that at greater resistances the tyre begins to slip, and either I need to change it or increase the pressure on it.
Could there be any other explanations? (I promise I'm maintaining cadence). Thanks.

Same here.
Seems odd but its true and all my max power runs are done on slope 0. I run out of gears (53x11) in the end and spin out at 93kph at around 1090watts.
I tried quite a few tyres, including those for turbos, to prevent spin and the Michelin touring 2000 in a 28c seems to do the trick. A close second is a Conti Gatorskin in a 25c.Paul0
