For a typical session on rollers, i'll normally do the following :-

10mins 75-82% MHR
10mins 89-94%
10mins 75-82%
10mins 89-94%
10mins 75-82%

With occaisonal breaks for water etc

Should I aim to increase the time spent in the 89-94% range, or does the session sound ok as is ?

Personally I would do 3 minutes of recovery easy pedalling low gear between sets and warm down 10 minutes easy.

I use Mikes 3 min recovery method but not as high HR as you, the thought of 10 min 90-95% scares the hell out of me. I do:

    warm up
4 min 80% going up to max at end of 4 mins
    2 mins easy spin
    2mins 75%
    Repeat and repeat again etc.
cool down till H rate is under 60 % for 5 mins or so,

I was also adviced to do some 40 min 85% which took me up a notch.

PS. I love you  someone else out there trains on rollers with a HRM

If i'm stopping for some water, or finished a 90-95% i'll soft pedal till my heart rate is back down a bit

It's actually not too bad surprisingly
