Post-virus recovery

Hi,
I've been off work this week with a virus, made me feel very tired and crap. I'm on the way back to the land of the living now and obviously I don't want to restart training too soon in case it give the little bugger a foothold to come back. OTOH I don't want to wait too long to come back.
My question is this: is it ok to do things like weight training when still feeling a bit rough, and leave the turbo-ing til I'm 100%? Or is this just as dumb?
All posts much appreciated!

I remember reading somewhere that you should leave at least 2 clear days of feeling properly at 100% health before going back to training.
And that you shouldn't rush to catch the milegage up as you are at your most vulnerable when you are coming back from illness.
Hope that helps.0 -
When in the past when I have just recovered from illness I tend to take it easy and go for rides at a lower than my usual pace and avoid placing to much strain on the body. I also do some light weight training with multiple reps and a few lengths in the pool.
Small efforts improve your immune system even when you are recovering.Brian B.0 -
