roller training for sportive

I tend to get out once a week for a session of hill riding around the North York Moors and I try to do two sessions on the rollers of about 3/4 hour per week.
I use a HRM on the rollers, can some one give me a guide to what I should be doing on the roller as there is a lot of conflicting data out there.
I am not as young as I was, nearly 50
My heart rate max is 200
What is the training HR I should avoid ?
what %HR is easy
what % work
what % hard work.
I gather that 75% of training should be under 150 (75%) and I should do some higher .
Any help would be appreciated.
Someone on this forum said they went blind on rollers after a good work out, I was sceptical but decided to give it a go . Wow Great, then I ran off the edge

Massive subject. Loads of other threads on the subject and answers will depend very much on what your current training level is and what you want to achieve.
As a starter most would be doing base training round about now so lots of riding around 65-80% MHR. So thats a start but would recommend you get a book like Joe Friel's Cyclist Training Bible or similar.Martin S. Newbury RC0 -
Your hours of training are not that high to worry about going easy. If I've read correctly that's 1.5hrs indoors M-F. In that case I'd be riding as hard as you can, at least Level 3, mostly Level 4 and occasionally some Level 5. See here:
